Costa Diadema was first set up on 10th December 2012 on the dry dock in Marghera (Venice) and delivered to Costa Crociere on 30th October 2014.

According to tradition, being the most modern ship of Costa fleet, Costa Diadema, nicknamed Queen of the Mediterranean, became the flagship of the fleet.

132.500 t. gross tonnage, 306 m lenght overall, 37,19 m moulded breadth, 4.950 passengers in 1.862 cabins: these are the number of “Costa Diadema”.

For this ceremony, a 1000 square meter ceremony area has been realized on the pier. The location was set up for the occasion with wooden wall painted  in two shadows of yellow and light grey and decorated with 3D and vinyl writings, pictures in golden frames depicting the ship’s phases of construction, fire proof wood flooring provided with grey carpets, more than 100 kinds of flowering plants and metal detectors.
